Slaidburn Country Practice is a very rural practice within the Royal Forest of Bowland serving the whole of the Hodder Valley and its surrounding villages.
Much of the ‘Royal Forest’ of 1332 remains in the valleys and The Crown continues to retain a large estate here – as part of the Duchy of Lancaster.
In 1964, 312 square miles of this area was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and the Practice lies in much of the eastern part of this AONB extending from the Trough of Bowland in the west to the village of Tosside in the east (Yorkshire border) to include the small villages of Dunsop Bridge, Newton in Bowland, Waddington, Grindleton, West Bradford, Slaidburn and Bolton by Bowland.
Slaidburn Health Centre was purpose built in 1974 and has recently (2009) been extended and upgraded to enable continued and future delivery of 21st Century health care to the practice population.
We also offer an on-site dispensing service at Slaidburn Health Centre.
Although small, we are a computerised, paper-lite Practice who deliver a uniquely personal and full general practice service including family planning, minor surgery and minor injury service. The Practice runs clinics for diabetes, asthma and child health.
We work with local agencies to plan and co-ordinate local health care services.
At Slaidburn Country Practice, we treat all our patients promptly, courteously and in complete confidence.
