We have both a Treatment Room and a Practice Nurse at Slaidburn providing the following services:
Treatment Room Services are:-
- Dressings
- Removal of stitches or clips,ear care
- Blood tests
- Monitoring of warfarin levels
- 24hr ECG
- 24hr BP
- Stop smoking
- Heart health check,
- ECG
- Pregnancy testin,
- Minor injuries
- The treatment room nurse also offers a cryotherapy and weight management service on Monday afternoons.
Practice Nurse (Nurse Prescriber) Services are:-

Heart Health including ECG
- Blood Pressure Monitoring and Measurement - including 24 hour Blood Pressure Monitoring
- 24hr ECG
- Sexual health - including contraception ( not coils of implants) and emergency contraception
- Dietary advice.
- Annual health checks for those with long term conditions - heart disease, diabetes, multiple sclerosis, learning disability, asthma, chronic lung disease, mental health disorders. epilepsy and thyroid disease
- Women's Health including cervical smears and HRT
- Men's Health
- Managment of diabetes, heart conditions, respiratory conditions
- Minor Injuries - including suturing. No x-ray facilities
- Stop Smoking
- Travel Health and Immunisations
- Childhood Immunisations
- Young Persons Health
- Pre conceptual health advice
- Pregnancy testing
- Prescribing for minor ailments - cystits, tonsillitis, skin lesions, ear infections, chest infections etc.
NURSE APPOINTMENTS
MONDAY 9am - 11am Treatment room only - blood tests, ear syringe, dressings, Warfarin monitoring (Monday only)
3pm - 5pm Wart clinic, weight management, heart health, ECGs, dressings,
TUESDAY 9am - 12 midday - all appointments.
2pm - 3.50pm - all appointments
WEDNESDAY 9am - 12. - all appointments
THURSDAY 9am - 10am - Treatment room only - as Monday except Warfarin monitoring
FRIDAY 9am - 11am - Treatment room
11am - 12 midday - all appointments
2pm - 5pm - all appointments
